PROGRESS REPORT

Dear Friends and Partners,

“But now, apart from the law, the righteousness of God has been disclosed …” (Rom 3:21). These words of the apostle Paul aptly voice the essence of Christmas:  God Himself is entering this broken world.  In our ill pursuit to substitute God, we have poisoned the world with selfishness, greed, and fear. Therefore, according to the law, we deserve God’s punishment. But instead, God is sending his Son Jesus to fix this world. This most important “but” in the history reveals God’s righteousness that is filled with His mercy and love.  In Christ, God is reconciling the world to himself, not counting our trespasses (2 Cor 5:19).  Thanks to God, all is well, all is right. Now we as God’s ambassadors are entrusted with this good news of Christmas to apply this “but” to all the present troubles and conflicts.

In December our students communicate this decisive “but” to their parents and grandparents through traditional Christmas stories. In addition to drama skits, singing and dancing, these Christmas productions also served as fundraisers to help the needy. In an auction style, students sold their handmade Christmas gifts and food samples to generate finances for the school social projects.  This year, all the proceeds will go to the non-profit organization “Plamienok” (Beacon) that provides care for children with terminal diseases.  We wish this support lights a beacon of hope for these children and those who help them in such a difficult situation.

Dear friends and partners, on behalf of our staff and all the students, we wish you a blessed Christmas and thank you for all your support and help.  May this Christmas inspire each of us to highlight that “but” of God’s message of hope and reconciliation to this troubled world.

Yours in His service,

Adrian Kacian, Director of Development          Bohdan Hroboň, president of CCE
