Martin | Slovakia | January | 2026

Dear Friends and Partners,
Looking back at the world in January 2026 is not a pleasant experience. The bombing of Ukrainian infrastructure by the Russian military left millions of civilians without heat and electricity in freezing cold. World leaders keep claiming progress in peace negotiations, but this aggression keeps claiming hundreds of lives every day. Iranian people were massacred in thousands because they dared to protest a regime that lavishly supports terrorists worldwide but does not care about basic human needs and rights. In Minneapolis, two legal citizens were shot while hindering paramilitary troops, whose practices against immigrants resemble those of former KGB agents during communist Czechoslovakia.
We could go on and on with political crises over Greenland, Epstein files, the rise of Nazi parties across the world, etc. It seems like every single day, the media reveals a new crisis that leaves us paralyzed. After all, what can we, the ordinary people, do about it?
First, this turmoil should not come as a surprise to us. According to Jesus, it is a part of the final days (see Mark 13) in which we all live after his earthly mission. Through His crucifixion and resurrection, God revealed the final word about this world: His love and mercy are stronger than hatred and death. No more revelation is needed; no other Savior or Messiah will come. Yes, some individuals present themselves as the anointed ones, but the fruit of these caricatures is chaos and destruction.
Second, we are not helpless. Now, amid all these atrocities, this is the time to show love and compassion. This is the time to stand for justice, to help the needy, to comfort those who mourn, to bring light to those who live in darkness, and to share Jesus and His love wherever we are. He promised to be with us in this fight, and that means victory!
Clinging to Jesus’ promise, we carried on our mission in January 2026. In addition to the usual – half-term testing and grading, regular school worship services, daily devotions, and church family worship service – CCE together with our school parents’ association started a series of lectures fighting hoaxes and lies that poison the world of social media. Another activity focused on building financial responsibility. On the fun side, the school parents’ association organized a hike to a nearby hill for teachers, parents, and students. During this outdoor relaxing activity, old relationships were strengthened, and new ones were formed.
Dear friends and partners, we are living in the final days. It does not matter how long they will last, but how well we use them. We keep you in our daily prayers and, please, pray for us too. Let us continue our mission in the year 2026; it now makes even more sense and is needed more than ever!
in His service,

Adrian Kacian, Director of Development Bohdan Hroboň, president of CCE
