PROGRESS REPORT

Dear Friends and Partners,

Every explorer must know where the north is; otherwise, his odds for surviving in the wilderness are small. In our individual, family, and corporate lives we are like explorers, wondering and curious about what the future holds. On all these journeys as Christians, it is crucial to know the true north – Jesus Christ. His life, death and resurrection can navigate us through our lives and safely bring us home. When we entrust our lives to Jesus, they become one meaningful and purposeful pilgrimage that encourages others to follow the true north.

For CCE, this summer of 2025 was full of experiences with Jesus, our true north. It began with a J-Camp the week of June 23-27. Under the leadership of Pastor Chris Wood, a group of nine people from the Hales Corner Lutheran Church, WI, along with our teachers, ran various activities for over a hundred 7th and 8th graders. They included Bible stories, sports, science, and crafts. Our students improved their English conversational skills and vocabulary, but, above all, experienced God’s love through being served by their American brothers and sisters. It was a great time of friends sharing their knowledge about Jesus, the true north of our lives.

Jesus as the true north was also the main theme of our VBS that took place June 30 – July4. More than 150 children and 40 teenage volunteers explored Jesus as their personal GPS device. Our traditional partner Grace Lutheran Church River Forest, IL, sent 13 missionaries led by the senior pastor David Lyle. The program and the experiences were fantastic. During the final program, over 300 parents and grandparents heard about Jesus as our personal navigator to meaningful and purposeful lives.

Our summer mission continued with two weeks of English language courses (ESL) in July 7-18, taught by 29 members of the New Heights Church, Vancouver, WA. Sara Martinez, Director of Serving Slovakia, brought a very skillful and enthusiastic team, serving almost 300 Slovak and Ukrainian teenagers and adults. They not only helped the participants to improve English conversational skills but also shared with them their personal faith stories, pointing to Jesus as our true north.

Dear friends and partners, God’s love is immense. We highly recommend setting Jesus as your personal GPS to follow him every day, just as we at the CCE did this summer. We loved it and cannot wait to experience it with you and others again next summer.

in His service,

Adrian Kacian, Director of Development          Bohdan Hroboň, president of CCE
