Success after Failure—A Letter from a Student

I am writing to you today because I want to thank you for your support during my three long years of study. This was a very hard and stressful period of my life. When I began my studies at the Bible School, I really loved it! ‘Mission Work with Children and Youth’ is a great and very special program of study. I was enjoying it so much but during my studies, a member of my family became very sick. The illness was severe and I had to focus on caring for my relative and had to skip my studies. After a couple of weeks, I realized I wouldn’t be able to continue with school. I had to stop my ‘Mission Work with Children and Youth’ program and this ‘failure’ bothered me very much.

Ultimately, I was able to return to Bible School, and thanks to God and the teachers at this institution, I finished. I finished later than my classmates, but I finished! When I had the diploma in my hands, I realized how much I loved to learn. I decided that I would continue in my study of theology and signed up for the master’s program. When I graduated, my biggest dream was fulfilled and I realized that my gratitude to God and to my teachers is so great. This is why I had to write and share with you how much joy I have!

Thank you so much for your support. I also want to thank our American friends and partners because they provided such a wonderful example of ministry to God and our neighbors. After my failure with the bachelor thesis, I never thought I would finish school at my (not young!) age! But I did! I wish you all the best and many blessings from our Father God!

Your Student, Jarmila Vnučáková
